Beautiful Day & Night Eye Tutorial

The look I’m going to guide you through today is this gorgeous light dusky pink, smokey eye with a bit of sparkle because lets admit it there is ALWAYS time for sparkle! This look is perfect for a day time look as well as for wearing over an evening. Whenever I wear my eyes this way people are always so complimentary as it really makes my eyes stand out!

For this tutorial you’ll need the Younique moodstruck addiction palette #3, you’ll be using only 2 shades, ‘Tickled’ & ‘Ecstatic’. You’ll also need your fave black liquid eyeliner (I always advise using a fine tipped applicator), & don’t forget your mascara, I’ll be using my 3D fibre lash mascara from Younique as I’m sure you all know how much I love mine by now! I’ll also be using a blending brush, this is kind of like a mini blusher brush for the eyes, a firmer eye shadow brush (any kind you have), and a liner brush similar to what you use for your brows!

Lets get started!

If you usually use primer on your eyes do that part now. Using your blending brush and shade ‘Tickled’ apply a generous amount to the crease of your eye, I take this all the way along the crease from one end to the other. You should be following the semi circular shape of your eyelid/crease. Around the outer eyelid you might find using small circular motions helpful when building up the tone.

If you are happy with the shade stop there, for this look I personally go over with this shade a couple more times so that its really defined! Once you reach your desired depth of shade stop there & pick up your firmer eyeshadow brush.

Using the firmer brush you want to apply ‘Ecstatic’ all over the eyelid making sure you reach the lash line. Bring it down onto the tear duct and around that area, you can do this as little or as much as you want. You don’t want to bring this up over the crease combining your other shade, strictly keep this only on the lid of your eye.

How easy was that?

Next you’ll need to apply your black liquid eyeliner, I freehand mine from one end to the other but if you aren’t so confident with your liner yet here is a simplified way for you.

Start by lining where you want your wing/flick/cat eye to be. Take this from the outer corner of your eye in a diagonal upward motion.

Now you’ll need to line down from the top of that flick onto your eyelid (it should end up looking triangular in shape), don’t worry about getting it neat straight away you just need a guide to start with.

Fill the triangular blank space in with the liner. Line the rest of your lid from the narrower corner of your eye meeting up with the liner you’ve already applied. As I always say, you need a somewhat steady hand for this but practise, practise, practise!! Don’t give up!

Now the hard bits done!

Using your liner brush (you’ll need ‘tickled’ again too), line the bottom eye lid under the lashes from one end to the other meeting up with the shimmery shade. Now with this you can go as thin or thick as you want too, some people like theirs quite thick so that its below their lashes, this is really just a matter of personal preference so just take yours wherever you are most comfortable!

Don’t forget you’ll need to blend this line out, if your liner brush isn’t blending it too well try using your thicker eyeshadow brush (this is just so that the shade isn’t too prominent along the bottom taking away from the overall look).

Final steps!!

Apply your mascara to the top and lower lashes, this defines and completes the whole look!

How crazy easy was that!?

Now you’re looking fabulous and feeling ready to take on the world!!
