Todays post has been written by Jacqui – a haircare professional, keeping it short and sweet on the importance of using products to suit your hair needs!

***
I have been hairdressing for over 20 years and the one frustrating sentence I hear from a client is “I love it but I won’t be able to keep this style the way that you do it ” – YES YOU CAN.
It surprises me when I ask my clients what products they use, often the answer is “Maybe a bit of mousse now and again”. There is a massive range of styling products on the market to suit your hair and your budget. Wether you want smooth straight hair, volume and curl, or the unkept look, there is something out there for you.
I have had clients ask “Do these products really do what they say on the box?”,  my answer – YES THEY DO! If you think of hair styling products in the same way you think about facial cleansing, moisturising, make up etc you will realise it’s all relevant.
At Ferrari’s Hair Studio we use Schwartzkopf OSIS range of products. They have a wide range/varitey to cover every styling requirement. We always have brilliant results, and you can bet they actually do what they say on the box.
If you have wild unruly hair, there is a product to tame it. If you have fine, lacklustre hair, there is a product to give thickness and volume.
Usually most clients don’t use specific products recommended for their hair due to cost, but most of us spend our hard earned cash buying facial treatments to keep us looking young and radiant! Your hair deserves the same.

I find it hard to work out what products I should be using on my hair – I am sure if I found the right ones it would make a big difference in the long term. x

    • cheskaaanels August 28, 2016 / 2:20 pm

Oh for sure! I didn’t know the importance of good hair products until I noticed a difference from the salon to home!

I must admit, I’m useless with my hair. I have a shower, wash it, dry it and leave it and that’s it. If I’m going out I may curl it a little but that’s about adventurous as I get. I really want to start experimenting some more with hairstyles!

    • cheskaaanels August 28, 2016 / 7:05 pm

Thats exactly what I use to do majority of the time!! Its feels so good when you change it up a bit xox

  3. talontedlex August 28, 2016 / 7:35 pm

I never know how to use any of the products and they just end up gathering dust in my drawer! I need to learn what I’m doing I think…!

  4. bruisedpassports August 28, 2016 / 7:35 pm

That’s so true. I have to admit I find it hard to carry and use hair products because I travel so much, but I do love the variety on the market these days!

    • cheskaaanels August 28, 2016 / 8:31 pm

Yeah thats a point there is such a large variety!!

  5. Rachel August 29, 2016 / 12:58 pm

I like to chop and change my products occasionally, sometimes my hair love something from the onset, sometimes it takes a few washes and other times it is a no from the start x

    • cheskaaanels August 29, 2016 / 1:53 pm

Yeah I get the same! Its trial and error isn’t it!

  6. LaaLaa (@LaaLaaMonroe) August 29, 2016 / 5:41 pm

I think it’s important to spend on your hair like you do everything else because I find when my hair becomes unruly etc there’s so much damage, the repair which is normally a cut – kills my soul!

    • cheskaaanels August 29, 2016 / 6:10 pm

Yes exactly! Its an easy thing to forget about but its worth remembering that your hair also needs a certain level of care!!

  7. vicky hall-newman August 29, 2016 / 6:00 pm

i get so frustrated when my hair doesn’t go the way I want it to. using the right products definitely helps your hair

    • cheskaaanels August 29, 2016 / 6:11 pm

Oh me too!! Its infuriating, then I end up whacking it up in a bun because Its not working but if we spent more time prepping the hair with the right products we can do anything with it!

  8. hannahhowell912 August 29, 2016 / 8:14 pm

I must admit I really do not take that good care of my hair but it keeps on growing!

I find it hard to find a product that works with my hair type. I have dry roots but an oily scalp and my hair has a lot of split ends. It is also frizzy, thick and curly, what would you suggest? xxx

    • cheskaaanels August 29, 2016 / 10:05 pm

Sometimes your scalp can cause problems due to health or stress levels causing issues like that and dry scalps etc I’ll ask Jacqui what she would recommend for you hair type and get her to write back to you! Xox

    • Jacqui Ferrari August 30, 2016 / 2:16 pm

With curly frizzy hair it’s really important to keep it in good condition. We tend to use Schwartzvopf moisture kick shampoo then a deep nourishing conditioner. As you have an oily scalp (which is usually hormonal) it’s important not to massage the scalp too much, as this can encourage the oil glands. Keep water temperature low. Only put conditioner on mid lengths and ends of hair. It’s also a must to have regular trims, as split ends will cause frizz. Some dry shampoos can help but not advisable if the rest of your hair is dry. Another tip, rather than over washing you hair is to fill a spray bottle with water and conditioner, excellent in mornings to sort out bed hair. I would also highly recommend Schwartzvopf OSIS salt must spray for pre drying. Absolutely excellent I curly hair. Let me know how you go .

I’m so bad with my hair as I wash it everyday so I don’t like using too many products as I feel like it would ruin my hair even more x

    • cheskaaanels August 29, 2016 / 10:24 pm

Oh wow I couldn’t wash mine everyday! Is your hair quite fine? Washing every day strips your hair of its natural oils xox

  11. Alyssiarose August 29, 2016 / 11:56 pm

I must admit that I am a bit pants at taking care of my hair and using products formulated for it, but I will try and bear it in mind from now on!

  12. Liz Mays August 30, 2016 / 12:04 am

It’s good to hear this! It would be amazing to learn how to maintain a new hairstyle with the right products.

  13. Angela Milnes August 30, 2016 / 12:27 am

I don’t use too many products in my hair. In fact I’ve not had anything done to it in a year and it is time to do something nice. I’m thinking of going short and dying and maybe buying something to help add volume too as my hair is thin.

    • cheskaaanels August 30, 2016 / 8:05 am

Awwwh that sounds lovely!! There are loads of products that help add volume now too!

  14. jheaton3612 August 30, 2016 / 7:10 am

I haven’t visited a hair salon in maybe 3/4 years? my hair is so neglected I wouldn’t know where to start. I would love to find products to make my hair curly 🙂

    • cheskaaanels August 30, 2016 / 11:47 am

Oh wow that is a long time!! Find time to treat yourself! Xox

  15. hann182014 August 30, 2016 / 11:06 am

I do agree its really important to take care of your hair. My hair is in so much better condition after looking after it with good products x

    • cheskaaanels August 30, 2016 / 11:48 am

Mine too!! I find I can tame my hair much better now

  16. flowerpowerlife August 30, 2016 / 1:28 pm

I’ve found Aveda and it’s made a huge difference to my very curly hair

  17. Claire'scomfycorner August 30, 2016 / 9:58 pm

I always buy what my hairdresser recommends, she is the expert 🙂

  18. TheLondonMum August 31, 2016 / 1:12 pm

When I’ve bought the products recommend by my hair dresser I love them- but cost eventually stops me buying them. I should really invest a bit more because it does make a huge difference.

    • cheskaaanels August 31, 2016 / 1:13 pm

Yes absolutely!! Its one of those things thats easy to forget about and not a top priority but it should be!

  19. Charlotte August 31, 2016 / 6:17 pm

I know I don’t make the most of my hair. Since having children I favour the wash and go look. Luckily my curls aren’t too bad.

    • cheskaaanels August 31, 2016 / 7:07 pm

Haha I got into that habit after having my two actually! Its hard work getting everything together!

  20. WhatLauraLoves August 31, 2016 / 6:38 pm

I totally agree with you. It amazes me that people will spend £80 on a top but wont invest in their hair when they’re wearing it every single day!! xxx

    • cheskaaanels August 31, 2016 / 7:07 pm

Ahhh great way to look at it I agree!!

  21. Leanne September 1, 2016 / 7:59 am

I use one or two products that my hairdresser uses on my hair mixed wih a couple of my personal faves. It is worth spending the money on salon products sometimes!

  22. MELANIE EDJOURIAN September 1, 2016 / 3:56 pm

It’s true that our hair does need to be treated well like our faces so we should invest in good products to keep it looking great.

  23. Lubka Henry (@lu_christova) September 1, 2016 / 9:26 pm

Hey, this was very interesting to read the point of view of a professional! Thanks for the feature 🙂

    • cheskaaanels September 1, 2016 / 9:53 pm

I figured people would enjoy it glad you did!

  24. Stressed Mum September 2, 2016 / 11:32 am

My hairdressers (also a friend) knows me so well, I use nothing I used to be all for products and styling, these days I may use a hairdryer to dry most of my hair and thats it, maybe a bit of hairspray. When I go to see her and have my hair done I always ask whats this and whats that. But it is a mind field when you go to a shop and try to find something for your hair

    • cheskaaanels September 2, 2016 / 12:36 pm

Yeah I often don’t know where to start with hair products as there are SO many!

  25. Candice Nikeia September 5, 2016 / 2:16 am

Finding the right products for my hair is so hard but I have found that the real natural products give the best results!

Have you tried sea salt spray. Gorgeous for curls.

  27. MELANIE EDJOURIAN September 12, 2016 / 10:00 pm

It’s true, many neglect their hair and don’t spend much on hair care products.

  28. dearmummyblog September 13, 2016 / 8:58 pm

My mummy spends way too much time and money on her hair. It’s very thick and takes ages to dry and style so anything that helps with that is good for us!

  29. hannahhowell912 October 9, 2016 / 5:35 pm

I love trying out new hair care but I nearly ever get it cut x

    • cheskaaanels October 9, 2016 / 5:57 pm

Great thing is you can get products for any type of hair!
