I don’t know about you but I can remember watching Ideal World as a kid, before my teens!! They’re a big name in the shopping world, everyone knows about Ideal world. If for some reason you’re unsure about who they are its simple, they are the home of TV shopping, a retro take on how we as consumers buy things these days but one that is still thriving! Ideal world also sell online for those of us who like a good online shopping sesh, you can bag anything from homewares to tech, fashion and even DIY but one that you probably wasn’t as aware of is their extensive range of beauty products!!
You know me, I’m in love with all things makeup and beauty, I never rule out anything unless I try it for myself first! Ideal world sell some of the biggest names in the beauty industry and luckily for me they got in contact wanting to send me a bloggers box jam packed with products to try out, some of which have become my new found faves!!
Delivery day was exciting!! I received my lovely bloggers box put together by the Ideal World team, and at first glance I was in blogger heaven! I fell in love with the box itself, a clean, bright white box with simple black lettering and rose gold detailing – Its everything you want/need in packaging and more! I opened the lid to my box and to my surprise every last inch of it was full by wonderful products I’d never tried before. It was a warm welcome, one that I was eager to get my hands into! I began taking photos straight away, I mean how could I restrain, it all looked so beautiful and I couldn’t wait to crack open some of the products, it was now or never!
My box mainly consisted of skincare items, which I’m really not opposed to but I have to allow time to test out each one properly! My skin can also be quite temperamental when I smother it in something new so I was really unsure as of what to expect!
I was happy to see some Elizabeth Grant products included in my box, they’re so pretty to look at and I’ve heard great things about this range of skincare so I was really happy to give these a go! I was given two hydra cell active serums, one for day and one for night, I also received a pot of hydra cell active face cream suitable for AM & PM.
My skin can be really quite dry so moisturising and keeping my skin looking fresh and hydrated is a big deal for me. The hydra cell active serums feel so hydrating on my skin, they sink in pretty much straight away but have a long lasting freshness to them. My skin continues to feel hydrated and soft hours after application and thats honestly why I love these! I did find that with the night serum by morning I’d sometimes feel as if my skin looked a little discoloured, slightly green which I’m guessing is because of the blue colouring of it. However this didn’t put me off in the slightest its nothing a good cleansing can’t take care of!
The Hydra cell active face moisturiser is one of my favourite things included in my blogger box, its smells INCREDIBLE! The scent is similar to subtle coconut infused with sweet fruits like pineapple or something along the lines of, this is a product I can’t get enough of! Again this feels really hydrating and nice on the skin, it sinks in really quickly and effectively leaving your skin feeling supple and soft. This for me is a winning product!
Also included in the skincare section of my box was the 10 Minute Glow peel off mask by Crystal clear skincare. I’d seen this around and was really happy to see it included within my goodies, I’ve been eager to try it! Usually I’d opt for wash off facial masks, I was intrigued to see what results would look like with a peel off, especially one that promises younger looking skin in just 10 minutes!
First impressions on applying the mask were (not going to sugar coat it) bad! I wasn’t so keen, its a really thick constancy almost like a glue and the smell can be very overpowering! I suffer with asthma so strong, potent smells can often make it harder for me to breath, the 10 minute glow mask smells really chemically which for someone like me (who prefers more natural products) made me cautious and worried about what I was putting onto my skin! Once the mask started to dry however, the smell subsided and it actually felt pretty nice – as the mask dries it gets tighter on your skin, for whatever reason I quite like that feeling. After the 10 minutes were up I proceeded to peel off the mask, it was super easy and didn’t feel as if it was pulling off any peach fuzz facial hairs at all! To my surprise my skin looked more refreshed than before use and firmer on my cheeks. This is definitely a mask I’d use again but perhaps not quite as often as weekly!
The last skincare related product I received was a tanning accelerator by Zhuhi. Tanning accelerators are not to be confused with self/fake tans, instead you apply this when using a sun bed or going out in natural sunlight to help your skins natural melanin production work faster. This means that when sunbathing you’ll tan much quicker than by the use of an SPF alone.
I’m from England, and I’m sure you’re all aware that UK weather can never really make its mind up! We’ve had a few hot days so far this spring followed by thunderstorms and rain so unfortunately I haven’t managed to try this out just yet! On the directions it does say that you should apply the accelerator and once dried cover yourself in an SPF. I’m not one for fake tans, I sleep in white bed sheets, I’m fussy with mess and I can’t deal with the stress of trying to get an all over even tan so the Zhuhi Tanning accelerator sounds perfect for someone like me! I’ll be using this in the summer and I can’t wait to try it out!
I’m pretty much crazy when it comes to lip colours, I have hundreds of them and I can’t stop myself from buying more and more! Believe me one nude shade is never enough, there are huge differences in tones and formulas hence my continuous binge buying! I was really excited to see that I’d been sent a couple lip products, both by Skinn, Dimitri James.
One looks like your classic twisty lipstick and one is more like a lip crayon. The lipstick is both a hydrating balm and colour two in one, I’ve never seen anything like it – the see through balm surrounds a peachy coloured lipstick in the middle and its ready to apply as one! The second lip product is of a bright pink/red colour, a lip crayon that I really like, I find getting the precision you want with these is really easy and this is just perfect for the summer approaching!
I also found these Attitude nail lacquers in beautiful natural french manicure shades! I have my nails done professionally, maintaining the upkeep alone is just something I’m not cut out for as a mother of two small kids but I do enjoy painting my toe nails! I’m actually quite anal about having painted toe nails so I know I’ll be using this set as the weather gets warmer for that lovely natural look rather than the bold colours that I’d usually go for!
Lastly in my Ideal World bloggers box I received two hair products, an American Dream hair brush and a Jenoris hair mask. Now if you follow me on Twitter or read my blog regularly you’ll know how important my hair is to me. I’ve been training my hair to be washed less and get it to a point where its in much better condition which I’ve now proudly achieved! Hair masks for me are a must have every now and then especially if you have coloured hair like mine as it can dry out quite quickly.
The Jenoris hair mask is suitable for those who have undergone keratin straightening treatment on the hair as well as containing natural silicones that come from fruit and sage oils. This is also high in omegas 3, 6 and 9 and gives the hair nourishment as well as softness and a gloss like finish. Since my hair hasn’t been in much need of a mask recently I haven’t yet tried this out yet but I’m sure over the hotter months my hair will need a little more TLC so I’ll be using this then!
The American Dream Ionic hair brush is another fave of mine. It helps to eliminate static and gives your hair a boost in shine, it detangles the hair making it feel silky soft, and is also great for those who wear hair extensions! I was dubious about the brush at first, how can a brush do all that and claim to maintain moisture in the hair, its just a brush? But oh boy it can!!
Its unlike any other brush I’ve used, the bristles are firmer than a normal hairbrush but they are also easy on knots and matted hair, its no tangle teezer in that sense but it does the job better than an ordinary brush and its definitely one that adds shine, combats static and makes your hair look gorgeous after a simple brushing! I’ll forever be keeping this in my handbag from now on!
Thank you to the team at Ideal World for putting this amazing box of goodies together for me!! I know where I’ll be shopping when I’m in need of a good beauty haul!!
