Since going blonde I’ve noticed that I’m much more obsessed with the way my hair looks, I feel as though I want to take more care of it now. It wasn’t like I totally neglected my hair before, but I was a new mum, 1 turned into 2 and I’d let myself go. My hair was just something I threw in a messy bun on top of my head so the kids couldn’t yank at it. Its a very different story now, you’ll know if you read my post on learning to wash your hair less, there are so many benefits and its really not a gross as you think! Anyway, sometimes my hair lacks life, I go on and on about how thick my hair is but sometimes letting it dry naturally or making the decision to straighten it can be the worst decision, leaving my hair looking like the life has been sucked out of it! My full looking locks no longer exist and my barnet turns into a flat, dull mess! Thankfully John Frieda sent me over some products from their luxurious volume range so I got to testing them out straight away!
The John Frieda Luxurious volume range now with caffeine vitality complex is said to transform fine, flat hair into luscious volumised locks. I was sent 3 products from the range – Luxurious Volume Shampoo, Luxurious Volume Conditioner and the Luxurious Volume In-shower Treatment. All of which promise to uphold a long lasting volume of up to 7 days from just one single wash!
Straight from the John Frieda website on the in-shower treatment – The ‘Innovative treatment, with volume-boosting polymers, penetrates fine hair to thicken individual fibres and enhance texture and fullness, providing the perfect foundation for building full-volume styles.’
The Luxurious volume In-shower Treatment is a semi-permanent treatment that lasts through multiple washes, leaving your hair feeling thicker and stronger.
So how did I get on?
Starting off with the Luxurious Volume shampoo, I gently massage the product all over my hair and scalp. I found that this product lathers really well without needing to squeeze out half of the bottle! After rinsing the shampoo off I move onto the Luxurious Volume conditioner, I apply this all over (not so much to the scalp area), run my fingers through to detangle any knots and rinse again. My hair feels super soft and conditioned after this step leaving me with that silky, fresh washed feel! I then move onto the in-shower treatment, I’ve never used a product on wet hair after finishing with conditioner so this felt strange to me. I wring out any excess water from my hair and apply a good few squirts of the treatment, again I massage the product in and run my fingers through to cover all areas. You’re suppose to leave this on for around 5 minutes before rinsing off, giving me the perfect opportunity to shave my legs whilst I wait! After this step my hair doesn’t feel quite as silky and soft as it did after use of the conditioner, although when my hair dries through completely its not an issue, my silky locks are back!
To be perfectly honest volume promising products quite often let me down, they promise so much an never really deliver. The Luxurious Volume range by John Frieda however left me feeling elated! I really have noticed a difference in the volume of my hair especially at the roots which is the area I need volume the most! Because I have quite thick hair I don’t think I need much help volume wise anywhere else so this is a product that I’ve found has worked really quite well for me. Gone are the days where I’d catch a glimpse of my reflection and try to prop up my dull, flat looking roots with my fingers only for it to last a matter of seconds before looking dull again! The John Frieda range has given my hair a new lease of life.
