So I’m guessing most of you would have heard about or seen the new makeup brand thats taking the world by storm & has everyone talking – Younique! Its a rapidly growing cosmetics company, being sold all over by independent presenters, similar to how Avon is sold. They are the first company that almost relies solely on social media to make their sales!! When I first heard of them it was down to their famous fibre lash mascara, I didn’t think much of it at the time so didn’t purchase one until more and more people I know started to sell it – FYI I’m not a Younique presenter myself, this article is truthful & my own honest opinion!
Younique boasts that their products are enriching & nourishing on the skin and claim that with the use of science they use only high quality, natural ingredients that are safe & suitable for ALL skin types. Younique does not test their products on animals (hallelujah!) and they also have a range of vegan friendly products as well as gluten free!
When I eventually tried the fibre lash mascara it was because my sister had bought one for me as a gift. Once I’d applied the legendary fibres I knew at that moment I could never go back to using ordinary mascara again!! The fibre lash mascara is one of their most popular products, it promises longer lashes without the use of falsies, it definitely delivers!! It does take a little getting use to in order for you to achieve the desired results you are after, but practise makes perfect and I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone! Its £23 which I think is what deters most people from biting the bullet & giving it a go, but for me its a price I’m willing to pay.
After trying the mascara I was a little more interested in what Younique had to offer. I saw more and more product videos on social media platforms demonstrating how their other products perform, honestly they made me want to try everything! Aside from the mascara I do have other Younique favourites that I’m super in love with so here they are…
Touch liquid Concealer
This concealer is by far the best I’ve used! The coverage is amazing, not only does it cover blemishes & imperfections but it has tattoo coverage capabilities too! The great thing about this is that it lasts an insane amount of time, forget the £23 price tag because you’ll only have to buy it a couple times a year (well depending on how you use it!). A tiny dot of this goes a long way, its 100% worth investing in! Its thicker than most concealers but thats really the beauty of it, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and it balances out my skin tone & hides my bags after a sleepless night!
Touch liquid foundation
I love this foundation! It’s really simple to apply, gives a nice even matte finish whilst also balancing & disguising any redness in the skin. I use this alongside the concealer. Younique presenters say that this combination is ‘photoshop in a bottle’ well they aren’t wrong! This comes with a £30 price tag but if used the correct way it can also last a lengthly amount of time. Younique recommends using their powder puff makeup brush or their newest foundation brush to apply, I do this and always get a great finish, but if you have your own technique when it comes to applying stick to what you know. This liquid foundation is thinner than some other foundations on the market, this is a quality I really like however if you aren’t so sure ask a presenter if they would happily meet with you (most will), you’ll be able to see & try the product before you buy. I’ve heard great things about the other types of foundations they have available too so don’t worry if you’re not too keen on this one, there are other options available for you!
When I first saw this bronzer I wasn’t immediately sure it would be for me, it has a shimmery/glittery look to it so I was pleasantly surprised when I’d tried my sisters and found out it was actually perfect!! This bronzer is by far the best one I have used! I use shade sunset, it gives me a really natural, subtle glow. This is £25 but again like the other products this is a product that lasts! Something I didn’t know about the bronzer until more recently is that there is a matte side and a shimmer side, I usually just combine the two but its nice to know that you have a choice. I can not and will not live without mine!
Moodstruck Opulence Lipstick
With 15 shades to choose from you could wear a different colour every day for 2 weeks! I was always very nervous about lipstick. You have to be a really confident person to wear it without being conscious of it when you’re out and about, I wasn’t all that confident to begin with! These lipsticks made me fall in love instantly. They have a really light feel to them, not suffocating like other lipsticks can be. They’re smooth and nourishing & there are some really gorgeous shades. I have a few of these now but my fave for an everyday look has to be well to do, this is a nude colour and is absolutely adorable on, I take mine everywhere! Shea butter is a key ingredient in these lipsticks so you can be confident knowing they won’t dry your lips out but will nourish and protect, at £15 a stick that sounds pretty reasonable.
Moodstruck Addiction Shadow Palette
These palettes are everything!!!! I use mine most days so £38 very well spent and like the others these last forever! The pigmentation in these is amazing and they stay put all day, literally all day without the use of primer!! You can choose from 4 palettes my favourite is #3. I’ve created some gorgeous looks with these palettes!
Divine Daily Moisturiser
If you read my skincare post you’ll know my skin can get quite dry. I’d use all sorts of creams in the hopes it would save my skin & put a stop to the dryness but nothing hydrated my face as well as this does! For me this moisturiser hydrates & smooths my skin without making it oily, it also gives me a great base for my makeup. You only need a small amount to cover your face and neck, which again means it lasts! At £30 a tube it’s definitely a higher end moisturiser but definitely worth the money if you want healthier looking skin!
Other products I’ve tried and would absolutely recommend are – Splurge Cream Eyeshadows, these are silky and creamy, really easy to apply and definitely spot on for a night out. Moodstruck Precision Brow Gel, this has tiny fibres incorporated into the gel to fill in any gaps you have, also tinted with colour it gives a really natural look to your brows & is super easy to use. Stiff Upper Lip Stain, these literally stain the lips whilst on. This means they last all day without needing to reapply. They’re smudge proof, long lasting and give you a lovely matte finish. Moodstruck Precision Pencil Lip Liner, these are also really long lasting, they offer some beautiful shades (my fave being pouty) and you can use them all over the lip as well as for lining!
With so many amazing products I can’t recommend Younique enough! They are often improving their market and offering more and more new products and shades to suit everyones needs. They also have a body bronzing range thats hit the market and seems to be going down a treat! Younique products helped me to regain my confidence and also reminded me to try new things and be adventurous with my makeup again!
