10 Things EVERY girl should have in her handbag!

I’ve been known to have a bit of a Mary Poppins bag, in the mounds of crap lying at the bottom of it there are some really essential things in there!! I’ve put together a list of my top 10 handbag essentials that you all need to know about, they’ll make your life easier and who knows, you may even thank me for it…

Tampons/Sanitary products

Lets face it, sometimes mother nature can be cruel. I know I’ve had many unexpected ‘shit my period has started’ moments, its like a right of passage for us women! I ALWAYS keep extra tampons in my bag now, it would be a mistake not to! Plus its always nice to be a hero when it comes to our fellow girl gang members!

Tangle Teezer

If you don’t already have one, get yourself on amazon and bag yourself one of these badboys! I have super thick hair that’s really easily tangled throughout the day, Tangle Teezers detangle your hair in seconds whilst being virtually pain free!! My Tangle Teezer is one of my most favourite everyday essentials.

Phone Charger

Where would we be without our technology!? I for one rely on my phone a lot throughout the day, if its not making phone calls or texting you’ll catch me constantly writing in my notes, or searching for the best train route to and from home!! Keeping your phone charged is probably one of the smartest things you can do, especially if you go on an impromptu drink after work and need to catch an uber home!

Chewing Gum

I remember teachers in secondary school that had the most pungent, stale, coffee breath and how I’d have to hold my breath so as not to breathe it in!! If you love coffee as much as I do you’ll need to carry a pack of chewing gum around with you, the last thing you want is someone thinking your breath is offensive, they’ll never forget it!!

Choice of lip colours

It’s best to have options right? I think its safe to say we can all be a little indecisive sometimes especially when it comes to makeup. I like giving myself a choice of lip colours incase I feel like a change half way through the day. We all need a little pick me up if the day feels like its turning to shit right!? Always pack the colour that makes you feel like a goddess and strut your way through the day!!

A Book

Whether you’re stuck on a train, you’re on your lunch break or you have a bit of down time its always necessary to have a non-tech entertainment option. I love immersing myself in a good book, its like an escape from reality. Whenever I’m feeling anxious or nervous, reading a book instead of checking my social media profiles makes me feel 100 times better!

Nail File

Its always unexpected and ironically just after having a nice manicure but it happens, nails chip and break into what end up resembling daggers!! For those moments we all need a trusty nail file to whip them back into shape, there’s nothing more annoying than catching your broken nail on your tights or snagging a strand of your hair!!

Wet Wipes

Wet wipes if not already will become one of your favourite essentials. If you have a spillage, have sticky/greasy hands and can’t reach a sink quick enough, or if a bird poos on you on your way to an event/work a trusty wet wipe will always be there to save the day!!

Admit it we all sit there staring at the clock every two minutes hoping its nearly lunch time, only to be met with the disappointment of it being hours away!! Thats why packing snacks can be a real game changer; my favourite being chocolate of course but you might want something a bit more substantial!

Hair bands & bobby pins

Whether you have unruly thick hair or fine thin hair a good bobby pin can transform your locks. I’ll often rush out of the house not having done much with my barnet so when I have time on the train, in the car or wherever I just slip out a few bobby pins, maybe even a hair band & make myself feel better! #winning

  3. Jessica February 22, 2017 / 4:11 pm

Yay you’re back! Loving this post! I don’t carry bags most of the time but when I do, I have my own little pouch I shove in my bag which I call my emergency kit – with hair bands, plasters, pads, hand sanitiser and even spare knickers if it’s not already full. I hate to admit I don’t often brush my hair🙈 So you’d never find one of those in my bag but yesss to everything else!
